After the abstract, please suggest a symposium chair and list the titles of the talks in the order they should appear at the congress. Please provide the symposium with an acronym, and write this acronym at the beginning of the title of the symposium (
(b) Each paper within a symposium is submitted with a 500-word abstract. Indicate to which congress section you submit the paper (tick the appropriate box). Please write the acronym of the symposium at the beginning of the title of the talk (
Note to symposia organisers: papers intended to be presented as parts of a symposium must be submitted by their respective authors. The symposium description is submitted by the symposium organiser by the same deadline. Please make sure that all parts of the submission are prepared for anonymous review and submitted to the same congress section (the same box is ticked in all of them).
Although the exact format of symposia is up to the symposium organizers, the allocated time for each symposium paper is 30 minutes. DLMPST/IUHPST Travel Grant for CLMPST2019
DLMPST/IUHPST Travel Stipends for Researchers from Developing Countries
http://clmpst2019.flu.cas.cz/travel-grants/
The DLMPST is the global voice for logic and philosophy of science and would like its congresses to reflect that by offering the opportunity to as many researchers from traditionally underrepresented countries as possible to present their ideas and results. As a consequence, the DLMPST offers travel stipends to partially or entirely cover the participation in CLMPST 2019 in Prague in August 2019.
In order to apply for one of the travel stipends, a researcher has to be academically based in a developing country (defined by the listing of the International Statistical Institute) and to have submitted a presentation for the congress.
Every researcher receiving a travel stipend will get a waiver of the registration fee and a travel and accommodation allowance of up to US$ 350/700 (US$ 350 for researchers from European countries on the ISI list and US$ 700 for researchers from non-European countries on the ISI list).
Eligibility criteria
In order to be eligible for a travel stipend, a researcher has to be mainly affiliated with an institution in one of the developing countries on the ISI list. Researchers affiliated with multiple institutions are only eligible if all of their institutions meet this criterion. A researcher must have submitted an abstract to the congress, either as individual presentation or as part of a symposium.
Selection criteria
Only researchers whose submitted abstract was positively evaluated by the programme committee will be considered for a travel stipend. The local organising team will select according to the quality of the submitted abstract, geographical and gender balance, as well as financial considerations.
Reporting requirement: The travel stipend has to be acknowledged with all research results directly or indirectly supported by attending the congress, e.g., by including the sentence “Research partially supported by a DLMPST/IUHPST Travel Stipend to attend CLMPST 2019 in Prague, Czech Republic”.
Application process
Applicants apply by e-mail to clmpst2019@flu.cas.cz
before the deadline of 15 December 2018. The application e-mail should contain a single .pdf file of at most one page with
1. the full name of the applicant
2. the main affiliation of the applicant with full address
3. a brief academic CV of the applicant
4. the title of the talk submitted to CLMPST 2019 together with the EasyChair submission number.

Call for Authors: Routledge Companion to the History of Computing
We are seeking authors for a proposed Routledge Companion to the History of Computing. We are looking for 4000-5000 word essays that survey a topic in the history of computing and critically discuss the existing scholarship (including your own, if applicable) and emerging trends in this area. Initially we are gathering names of interested authors and the topic(s) they would like to write on, for inclusion in the proposal. See attached CFP for more details.
If you would like to contribute—or have questions–please contact us (routledge.computing.history@gmail.com) by November 10 with a brief paragraph describing the topic you want to write on and the themes you would like to address.
Thanks!
